FAYETEVILLE – In a game of non-conference foes separated by a mere 16 miles, the battle of Route 50 ended deadlocked, as the Hillsboro Lady Indians and Fayetteville Lady Rockets tied Monday evening at Fayetteville High School 2-2.

Hillsboro junior Lauren Colliver scored both of the Lady Indians’ goals against the Southern Hills League’s Lady Rockets with one goal in each half.

Her first goal came with a kick from the left side by sophomore Leah Pence for the assist.

Colliver’s second goal came in the second half off a cross kick from senior Kaelee Sexton.

One of the two Fayetteville goals came from a direct kick in the first half.

“We just didn’t play well. We aren't playing like we are capable of playing,” Hillsboro coach Leslie Molen said. “Taylor Hauke and Jen Williams played well and had good hustle for us against Fayetteville.”

The tie moves the Lady Indians to 9-1-3 overall.

The final home regular season game for HHS will be a makeup game Wednesday, Oct. 14 as they will host Senior Night at 5 p.m. against South Central Ohio League counterpart Miami Trace.

In the upcoming SE Distirct Division I girls soccer tournament, the No. 3 seeded Lady Indians will host No. 6 seeded Warren (5-6-1) on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at Richards Memorial Field at 6 p.m.
