Jackson sparks Musketeers for win over Minnesota

The Xavier Musketeers advanced to the second round of NCAA Tournament play Friday afternoon as they defeated No. 11 seeded Minnesota 65-54.
XU junior and Greenfield native Dante Jackson finished with nine points. He was 2 of 7 from the field, both 3-pointers and went 3 of 4 from the free-throw line.
Jackson also played well defensively, while grabbing one rebounds. The junior also added three assists and three steals in 30 minutes on the court.
Xavier (25-8), the regular season Atlantic 10 champion and No. 6 seed in the West Region, shot 34.3 percent from the field (23 of 67). From the free-throw line they were 12 of 19 for 63.2 percent.
Jackson was named defensive player of the game on WLW.
"Our coaches were phenomenal," Jackson said on WLW. "They told us to adjust at halftime. We stayed loose, but focused."
