EBER — In what turned into a very physical South Central Ohio League game in the night cap at Panther Stadium, the Miami Trace Panthers scored the game-winning goal late in the game to send the Hillsboro Indians home with a 3-2 loss.

The game-winning goal was scored by by Craig Woodrow with 16:58 left in the second half. The goal came against the Hillsboro back up keeper as the starter was out of the game due to a yellow card.

"This was a very, very physical game," HHS coach John Weber said. "It's a disappointing loss, but we played very well."

The type of game Thursday sums up the 2010 Hillsboro soccer season, according to Weber.

"Almost every game we've shown up and were ready to play has been like this one," he said. "All year long, we've lost close games after leading in the second half.

"We are much better than a two-win team. We are better than what our record shows."

For the season, Hillsboro is 2-9-2 overall.

Hillsboro senior Colt Campbell scored by Hillsboro goals. His first goal came via penalty kick and the second, at the time a go-ahead goal, was on a breakaway. The breakaway goal came at the 31:17 mark of the second half.
Campbell scored his first goal with 10 seconds left in the first half on the penalty kick. The goal tied the game at 1-1.

"We play all the good teams on our schedule super strong. We get the lead, then give it away," Weber said.

The game was a game full of yellow cards with the Indians getting two and the Panthers one. All three cards came in the second half when the game got to its most physical point.

"Our boys played hard," Weber said. "I am proud of the effort."

Miami Trace scored its first two goals with 19:57 left in the first half and at 28:19 in the second half to tie the game at two.
