HHS, MHS girls finish in SCOL meet

    GREENFIELD - On day two of the South Central Ohio League meet, the Washington Lady Blue Lions captured the girls overall top spot with 159 total points in the two-day event.
    Miami Trace was second at 124.33 points tallied, followed by the Hillsboro Lady Indians with 114.66. London finished in fourth, and the Lady Tigers of McClain gained a fifth-place spot with 70 points. Sixth was Clinton-Massie, and the seventh spot went to the Madison-Plains Lady Golden Eagles.
    In the finals of the 100-meter hurdles, Hillsboro sophomore Leah Pence won the event with a time of 16.68. Second place went to Miami Trace's Maggie Bottorff at 17.57. McClain's Sarah Upp was third with a time of 18.30. Tia Mitchell (MHS) was sixth at 19.11.
    The 100m dash saw Washington's Courtney Merritt win with a first-place time of 13.39. Rachel Eaton (LHS) was second at 13.48 and Hillsboro's Holly Fouch was third with a time of 13.61. Felicity Peabody (MHS) was fifth at 13.71. Miami Trace's Jenna Cobb had a time of 13.71 for fourth place.
    In the finals of the 4x200m relay, Washington won with a time of 1:50.30, followed by second place London at 1:54.39. McClain was third at 1:54.81. MHS runners in the relay event included: Sarah Upp, Sammy Rooks, Kaitlyn Faulconer and Taylor Faulconer.
    HHS was fourth in the 4x200 with a time of 1:55.21. HHS runners included: Tayler Hauke, Leah Pence, Brittany Ferrell and Taylor Standforth.
    London's Kayla Crager won the 1600m run with a time of 5:15.97. Hillsboro's Hannah Patton (6:26.04) and Maggie Tamborski (6:35.49) were seventh and eighth place finishers. Kelly Mustard (MHS) was ninth at 6:40.66 and Gretta Reyer (MHS) was tenth at 6:47.88.
    In the 4x100 relay, Washington won with a time of 52.49. HHS (Amelia Gustin, Tayler Hauke, Jamie Gustin, Leah Pence) was second at 53.40.
    MHS finished in seventh place at 56.58. Running for MHS were Sarah Upp, Sammy Rooks, Kaitlyn Faulconer and Tia Mitchell.
    Jenna Cobb (MT) won the 400m dash with a time of 1:01.23. McClain's Felicity Peabody was second at 1:01.91. Holly Fouch (HHS) was third at 1:02.68. Brittany Ferrell (HHS) was sixth place (1:05.31), and Kaitlyn Faulconer (MHS) finished at 1:08.29 for eighth place.
    Taylor Faulconer (MHS) was first in the 300m hurdles with a first-place time of 48.86. Taylor Stanforth (HHS) was second at 51:38. Kayla Savage (HHS) was fifth at 52.86.
    In the 800m run, Jamie Gustin (HHS) was third at 2:31.70. McClain's Elizabeth finished ninth with a time of 2:44.10. Hannah Patton (HHS) had a time of 2:54.56 and Sammy Rooks (MHS) had a final time of 2:59.52.
    Holly Fouch (HHS) won the finals of the 200m dash with a time of 27.57. Felicity Peabody (MHS) was second at 28.01. Taylor Faulconer (MHS) was seventh at 29.64.
    In the 3200m run Samantha Stroker (MT) had the fastest time at 12:32.16. Maggie Tamborski (HHS) was sixth at 13:52.97. McClain's Caitlynn Anderson (15.41.96) and Lauren Howard (15:56.54) were tenth and eleventh place.
    Sarah Upp (MHS) was third in the long jump with a distance of 15-04.00. Amelia Gustin was ninth at 14-05.00. Sammy Rooks leaped 13-10.00 for eleventh place and Alicia Hale (HHS) was fourteenth at 11-00.50.
    In the discus event, Jamie Gustin (HHS) was fifth at 89-07. Alyssa Miley (HHS) had a throw of 74-00 for eighth place. Chandra Dean tossed the discus 68-01 for elventh.
    Sarah Abell (HHS) had a vault of 7-06.00 to gain a second place finish in the pole vault event. Kelley Ernst (HHS) was tied for second place with a height of 7-06.00.
    Kacie Monroe (MHS) 6-06 was ninth in the pole vault.
