DODSONVILLE – The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs fell to 4-4 overall, dropping a close 1-0 Southern Hills League contest to the Fayetteville Lady Rockets Friday at Lynchburg-Clay High School.

The lone goal came in the second half with 11:45 left in regulation when Brittany Dozier put the Lady Rockets in the lead at 1-0.

L-C keeper junior keeper Shelbi Halverson finished the game with 11 saves in 70 minutes at goal.

Fayetteville had 14 shots at goal against L-C. The Lady Mustangs had 11.

“This was an evenly played match with both teams having few opportunities to score,” Lynchburg-Clay coach Dennis West said. “We had one major defensive lapse and Fayetteville took advantage and scored. Both teams played excellent defense.”
