Dillon leads Tigers to SCOL win over MP

GREENFIELD — The McClain Tigers baseball team scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to earn a come-from-behind 9-8 win, at soggy Mitchell Park, Friday against the Madison-Plains Golden Eagles.
The win was the Tigers' second win over MP in as many days, defeating the Golden Eagles, 3-1 on Thursday at MPHS.
On Friday, down two runs in the final frame, Kyle Flora led off the inning by reaching on base by an error. Ryan Case followed with a walk.
The Tigers pulled off a double steal, and sophomore Brent Shannon followed with a base hit to center to plate two runs. Shannon stole second and was singled in by Jacob Dillon to keep the Tigers undefeated in SCOL play.
Zach Uhl (2-0) was the winning pitcher for the Tigers. Uhl worked in relief of Flora, who relieved starter Dillon in the third inning.
The Tiger pitchers combined for six strikeouts, eight walks and only three hits on the day.
MHS was led at the plate by Dillon, who went 3-for-4, with one walk and one RBI. Case and Shannon both had three RBIs on the day.
The Tigers (4-0, 8-3) host the North Adams Green Devils, Saturday for a doubleheader. The first game is scheduled for a 10 a.m. first pitch.
