Danté Jackson equaled a career high with 19 points Sunday as the Xavier Musketeers rolled to a 71-63 Atlantic 10 Conference win at Duquesne.

The victory gives Xavier (18-6, 9-1 A-10) sole possession of first place in the Atlantic 10. Duquesne falls to 16-7 and 8-2 in the A-10.

Junior Tu Holloway scored a game-high 20 points to go with seven rebounds and three assists for Xavier.

Junior Kenny Frease posted a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Jamel McLean added 10 points and nine rebounds.

Back-to-back 3-pointers by Holloway and Jackson brought Xavier back from a seven-point deficit, to 50-49, with 10:12 left. Jackson then tied the game on a free throw.

The senior out of McClain High School then added a steal and a layup, which was followed by a trey from Holloway to move Xavier ahead, 62-53, with 5:14 left.

Jackson tied his career high at Xavier, matching a 19-point effort last season against Dayton.

The win puts Xavier on track to claim a fifth straight regular season A-10 title, at 9-1 in the conference and 18-6 overall.[[In-content Ad]]
