WASHINGTON C.H. — The Washington Blue Lions defeated the McClain Tigers by stealing home in the bottom of the eighth inning, with two outs and a two strike count on the batter to gain a 7-6 South Central Ohio League win.

Parker Huffman perfected the game-winning play to earn the Blue Lions their fifth SCOL win of the season and a share of second place with the Tigers.
The Blue Lions jumped out to an early 6-0 lead, but the Tigers chipped away at the lead with three runs in the third, one in the fourth, and two more in the fifth.
Zach Uhl (2-1) suffered his first loss of the season. Uhl relieved Jake Dillon, who worked 5 1-3 innings, striking out five and walking one. Dillon allowed no runs in relief of Logan Wise, who started the game and went 1 1-3 innings.
The Tigers (14-6, 5-3) out-hit the Blue Lions (9 to 5) but left 13 runners stranded during the game.
MHS was led by Caleb Gregory at the plate, who went 4-for-5 with a double and three RBIs. Jon Johnson went 2-for-4 for the Tigers with two stolen bases.
McClain now stands at 14-6 overall, 5-3 SCOL. The Blue Lions pick up their fourth straight win and improve to 7-7 overall, 5-3 SCOL.
Both teams, along with the Miami Trace Panthers, are tied for second place, one game behind league-leading Hillsboro.
The Tigers host the Clinton Massie Falcons Wednesday at Mitchell Park, with a 5 p.m. first pitch scheduled.
