Whiteoak Wildcats fall to visiting New Richmond

The Whiteoak Wildcats hosted the New Richmond Lions Thursday evening, where WHS lost by a 4-2 score in a non-conference showdown at Chris Veidt Field.
New Richmond scored all four of their runs in the first three innings with a run crossing the plate in the top of the first, followed by a two-run second and one run in the third. Whiteoak’s runs came in the bottom of the first and third innings.
The Lions and Wildcats each had five hits, with WHS committing two errors.
Camden Butler finished the game at 2-for-3 with a double. Abe Flader was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Christian Hite finished 1-for-3 with one run and a double. Lucas Pollard was 1-for-2 with an RBI, a double and a sacrifice.
Karson Arey was hit by a pitch, while Izayah Clift scored a run and collected a steal.
Gabe Michael finished with a sacrifice and was hit by a pitch.
Arey pitched seven innings, allowing two earned runs with four strikeouts.
Whiteoak now has an overall record of 10-16 this season.
The Wildcats were scheduled to face Eastern Reedsville on Saturday, May 16 in non-conference play.
WHS will play in their district tournament opener Thursday, May 21 at home against Miller with a 5 p.m. start.
