Whiteoak softball falls to Valley and Fayetteville

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats softball team played in two games to begin this past week from April 27-29, as they lost in conference and non-conference action. 

Monday (April 27) the Lady ’Cats fell by a 20-0 score on the road at Valley High School in Lucasville.

WHS was no-hit in the game but did force two walks as Chanel Captain and Matti Conrad reached the bases via walks. Captain also had two steals in the non-conference game, and Conrad had one steal. 

Kyra Boyd and Madison Davidson each pitched two innings in the game, with Davidson finishing with two strikeouts. 

Tuesday (April 28) the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats fell by a 7-0 score against the Fayetteville Lady Rockets at Fayetteville High School in Southern Hills Athletic Conference play. 

WHS collected two hits in the SHAC loss where Jada Combs was 1-for-2, and Kyra Boyd went 1-for-3 with a double. 

Boyd pitched six innings for WHS where she finished with four strikeouts. 

The game saw Fayetteville score one run in the bottom of the first, followed by one run in the fourth and five runs in the sixth inning. 

Fayetteville was led by Chloe Cox and Addie Rugenstein with two hits each. The winning pitcher for FHS was Lydia Jordan with 14 strikeouts in seven innings in the circle, as she also allowed just two hits and had no walks and no runs allowed. 

WHS is now 2-12 overall this season and 2-9 in the SHAC Division II standings.
