Whiteoak hosts ’26 Deb’s Wooden Bat Classic

The 2026 Deb’s Wooden Bat Classic took place at Whiteoak High School and Hillsboro High School on Saturday, where it was Hillsboro winning the event with two wins against Miller and Williamsburg.
At Chris Veidt Field at Whiteoak High School, the host team of the event — the Whiteoak Wildcats — fell to Williamsburg by a 9-2 score and Miller by a 7-2 score.
Hillsboro defeated Miller, 1-0 and Williamsburg, 3-2, as those two games were played at Hillsboro High School.
As for the Whiteoak part of the event, the Wildcats in game one lost by a 9-2 score to Williamsburg with the Wildcats of Williamsburg scoring three runs in the top of the second, two runs in the sixth and they had a four-run seventh to extend their lead.
Whiteoak scored one run in the bottom of the second and one run in the third.
The Wildcats of Whiteoak totaled one hit in the loss with Izayah Clift going 1-for-4. Lucas Pollard forced two walks and had a steal. Jonah Michael finished with one run and a walk.
Jacob Kiley drew a walk, while teammate Karson Arey scored a run and walked twice. Christian Hite recorded an RBI and had two walks. Caden Butler finished with a walk, and Abe Flader had one RBI.
Arey had the loss on the mound, with three strikeouts, one earned run, five walks and three hits. Jude Michael pitched 1.1 innings, with two earned runs and a walk. Kellan Limon pitched 0.2 innings, totaling two walks.

In game two of the doubleheader, Whiteoak lost to the Miller Falcons, 7-2 at WHS.
The Falcons scored their first run in the top of the second, then added two runs in the top of the third, followed by a four-run fourth inning.
Whiteoak scored a run in the bottom of the fourth, and they added a final run in the fifth inning.
Whiteoak finished the game with four hits, as Hite was 1-for-3 with one run, one RBI, one walk and a steal. Clift finished 1-for-4 with a steal.
Jonah Michael was 1-for-4 with a walk, and Flader finished 1-for-2 with an RBI, one walk and two steals.
Pollard collected two walks and three steals, while Kiley scored a run and was hit by a pitch. Arey had one walk and was also hit by a pitch. Butler finished with two walks, one HBP and a steal.
Gabe Michael had the loss on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings with three earned runs and three strikeouts. Jude Michael pitched 2.0 innings, having no earned runs, one hit and five strikeouts. Butler pitched 2.1 innings, with one strikeout and four earned runs.
Whiteoak is now 1-6 overall.
