Lady ’Cats fall to Clinton-Massie in 1-point game
Saturday (Dec. 9) saw the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats battle the Clinton-Massie Lady Falcons with a strong effort, but WHS fell by just a single point, 43-42 at CMHS.
In the non-conference loss, the Lady ’Cats trailed by a 14-7 score at the end of the first quarter, but rallied back to outscore the Lady Falcons 16-9 in the second quarter for a halftime score of 23-23.
WHS won the third quarter at 10-9 for a 33-32 lead, but lost the fourth frame at 11-9.
Whiteoak battled as they were 9-of-13 from the free-throw line, they shot 31.3 percent from the field and made three 3-pointers.
Other team stats included 29 rebounds (12 offensive, 17 defensive), six assists and 19 steals, and they committed 28 turnovers.
Jaylie Parr led WHS with 23 points, making five two-point baskets, two 3-pointers, and she was 7-of-8 from the free-throw line. Parr added four rebounds and five assists.
Kylee Hamm totaled 12 points in the loss, making five two-point baskets and going 2-of-3 from the free-throw line. Hamm also collected six rebounds and three assists and had five steals.
Lydia Carr finished the game with five points (one 3-pointer), with six rebounds and two steals.
Torie Potts wrapped up Whiteoak’s scoring with two points, plus she had four rebounds, one assist and four steals.
Also for WHS, Bri Hill had two rebounds, Kelsey Monteith grabbed one rebound and Madison Thompson finished with an assist.
Whiteoak is now 4-2 overall, and they stand at 3-0 in the Southern Hills Athletic Conference.
