Lady ’Cats fall by 1 run to Paint Valley

With a combined 23 runs scored by the Paint Valley Lady Bearcats and Whiteoak Lady Wildcats, it was the visiting PVHS team that finished with the most runs scored, defeating the Lady Wildcats, 12-11 at WHS. 

PVHS had 15 hits and no errors, while WHS finished the game with 12 hits and no errors. 

WHS held a seven-run lead after their first two innings with four runs in the first and three runs in the second for a 7-0 advantage. 

PVHS answered with eight runs in the top of the third, then three runs in the fourth for an 11-7 lead. In the top of the sixth, Paint Valley scored a run, while the Lady ’Cats scored two runs. 

WHS rallied for two runs in the seventh but were one run short on the scoreboard. 

Whiteoak had two players finish with three hits each as Kyra Boyd was 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Mckinley Mootz was 3-for-5 with three RBI. 

Chanel Captain hit a home run as she went 1-for-3 with three runs, one RBI, two walks and a steal. Jenna Canada finished 1-for-4 with two runs, one walk, three steals and a HBP. 

Jada Combs was 1-for-3 with one run, three RBI, one walk, a HBP and one steal. Kylee Ruark was 1-for-2 with a double, two runs, three walks and a steal. 

Madison Davidson was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Matti Conrad ended the day at 1-for-3. 

Ceaira Boggs walked once, while Ivy Garrison collected an RBI and two walks. 

Boyd pitched seven innings with four strikeouts. 

WHS is now 2-13 overall, and they sit at 2-9 in the SHAC Div. II standings.
