O'Connor, Stephenson each set career milestones in Lynchburg-Clay win over Ripley

Lynchburg-Clay seniors Kylie O’Connor and Melany Stephenson each set their own career milestones on Saturday (Sept. 18) as the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs defeated the host Ripley Lady Blue Jays in Southern Hills Athletic Conference volleyball action.

O’Connor achieved her 500th career kill, while Stephenson gained her 500th career dig.

The match saw LCHS win in thee sets by scores of 25-20, 25-20 and 25-16. For the match, Lynchburg-Clay had 38 kills, 33 assists, six aces, 68 digs and five blocks.

Against Ripley, O’Connor totaled 12 kills, two aces and 19 digs. Stephenson finished with one kill, one assist, one ace and 21 digs.

Fellow senior Addy Carraher totaled one kill, 30 assists, 10 digs, and a block. Junior Hydee Green ended with one kill, one ace, one dig and one block.

Halle Greene, a junior, totaled 10 kills, one assist, one ace and eight digs. Freshman Becca McLaughlin had two kills and one assist.

Junior Bre Rosselott collected 11 kills in the win, plus she added three blocks. Senior Jules Vesey had one ace and nine digs.

The win left LCHS with an overall record of 8-2 with a SHAC mark of 5-0.
