Mustangs golf wins tri-match over SHAC rivals Fairfield and Fayetteville

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs boys golf team returned to the golf course on Thursday in a match at Buckeye Hills where they won the three-team event by defeating Southern Hills Athletic Conference rivals Fairfield and Fayetteville.
LCHS won the varsity match with a score of 150, followed by the Fairfield Lions with a score of 167 and the Fayetteville Rockets were third at 223.
The Mustangs were led by match medalist Jackson West with a score of 34.
Next was Nolan Wilkin with a score of 35, and Kristian Beachy finished with a 39 score for the contest. Aiden Bene carded a 42, while LCHS teammate Austin Manning had a 45 score, and Connor Case scored a 62 for the Mustangs.
The Lynchburg-Clay JV boys golf team competed at Snow Hill against Waynesville and East Clinton also on Thursday.
Waynesville won the tri-JV match with a score of 181, followed by East Clinton at 183 and the LC Mustangs finished third with a 195 score in the JV event.
LCHS had the following scores in JV action: Tanner Roberts (42), Carson Pfister (44), Jayden Pettit (53), Koen Collins (56). Also on the JV team are Aiden Lewis, Colton Warnock and Carter Warnock.
