Mustangs boys golf sets new school-record score of 298 at Adena Invitational

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs boys golf team recorded one of the best rounds in program history on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at the Adena Invitational held at Jaycees Golf Course, firing a school-record team score of 298.

Leading the way for LCHS were Nolan Wilkin and Jackson West, with the duo being co-medalists, as they each carded a score of 70 (2-under-par) for the co-first place finishes.

The Mustangs' record-setting team score as included Kristian Beachy with a score of 79 as he was tied for 11th place. He was tied with teammate Aiden Bene, also finishing in 11th place with a score of 79.

Austin Manning also turned in a solid round, shooting a score of 84 to finish tied for 34th in a field of 117 players.

The final score of 298 pushed the Mustangs to what became a 10-stroke victory over runner-up Westfall (308), with Circleville (313) finishing third out of a total of 24 teams.
