Lynchburg-Clay tops Eastern for SHAC volleyball win

Winning in three consecutive sets on Tuesday, Aug. 25 the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs were able to gain a win in Southern Hills Athletic Conference action by defeating the visiting Eastern Lady Warriors.
The Lady Mustangs won the match in dominating fashion with scores of 25-9, 25-4 and 25-10.
Lynchburg-Clay collected 37 kills in the match with junior Bre Rosselott leading with 10, while seniors Halle Greene and Kylie O’Connor each had eight kills. Junior Hydee Green totaled seven kills, while freshman teammate Becca McLaughlin had two kills. Collecting one kill each were junior Charlie Wildey and senior Melany Stephenson.
LCHS also had 15 aces in the win with Greene collecting six and Stephenson with five. Senior Addy Carraher finished with two aces, and with one each were O’Connor and senior Jules Vesey.
Lynchburg-Clay’s Green had the lone block.
The Lady Mustangs collected 34 digs in the victory with Stephenson having 12, while O’Connor had eight, and Greene totaled six. Carraher finished with five digs, Green totaled two and with one dig was Vesey.
LCHS also gained 34 assists with Carraher having 31 of them. Also with one assist each were Wildey, Stephenson, and Vesey.
The win gives Lynchburg-Clay an overall record of 3-1 on the season, with a 2-0 record in the SHAC.
Next for LCHS is a home non-conference match on Thursday, Aug. 27 when they will host East Clinton.
