Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs finish 10th at weather-shortened Division II State Golf Championships

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs completed their history-making 2025 boys golf season on Tuesday, as the second day of the Division II State Boys Golf Championships were canceled, as day one results were used to determine the final standings.
On Monday the LCHS boys finished in 10th place overall following a tie-breaker with Waynedale, as they placed better than two other teams in the championship tournament, finishing with a score of 340, beating the 11th-place team by six strokes and the 12th-place finisher by 13 strokes.
In the 18-hole tournament played at NCR Country Club in Kettering, the Mustangs — who are coached by James Walker — were led on the course by Nolan Wilkin and Kristian Beachy with scores of 81 for the event.
Next was Aiden Bene with a score of 88, followed by Jackson West at 90 and Austin Manning with a score of 98.
The Division II boys golf state champion was Alter with a team score of 314, and the state runners-up were Buckeye Valley with a 316 score.
The rest of the standings were River View (317), Ottawa Hills (318), Indian Valley (320), Poland Seminary (329), Roger Bacon (332), Westfall (339), Lynchburg-Clay (340), Waynedale (340), Liberty Benton (346) and Gilmour Academy (353).
This season the Mustangs were the 2025 back-to-back Southern Hills Athletic Conference champions and the Division II SE District Runners-Up.
