Lady Mustangs end season as SHAC Division I champions

Thursday, May 22 was the completion of the 2025 season for the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs, and even though their tournament run ended the previous day, they completed the season by winning a conference championship.
The Lady Mustangs (15-8) won a makeup game against the visiting Eastern Lady Warriors by a 7-0 score to capture the Southern Hills Athletic Conference Division I championship.
This season LCHS in SHAC play finished with a .769 winning percentage as they scored 86 runs and allowed 42 runs, ending the SHAC season with three shutouts.
Lynchburg-Clay wasted no time getting on to the scoreboard by scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning, and they later had a five-run inning in the bottom of the fifth for their seven total runs.
LCHS ended the day with 11 hits and no errors, while EHS totaled two hits and had four errors.
The Lady Mustangs had two players with three-hit games as Aubrey Roberts was 3-for-4 with a double and one run. Also with three hits was Kami Collins at 3-for-4 with a double and two runs.
Sophia Michael finished 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Having one hit each were Audrey Barry (1-for-4, a home run, one run, one RBI), Reese Ruble (1-for-3, a double, one run, one walk) and Caitlyn Collins (1-for-3, a double, one RBI). Noel Barnhill finished with one RBI.
Barnhill was also the winning pitcher, ending the day with seven innings pitched with no runs, one walk, and she had 11 strikeouts. Barnhill finished with 98 pitches, 74 for strikes.
The Lady Mustangs end the ’25 season with a 15-8 overall record, with a SHAC mark of 10-3.
