Lynchburg-Clay defeats Wildcats in Whiteoak’s varsity debut match
Playing in their first team varsity match on Monday (Aug. 19), the Whiteoak Wildcats hosted the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs in a Southern Hills Athletic Conference match at the Whiteoak soccer field located at Bright Elementary, as the co-ed Wildcats lost to the Mustangs boys soccer team, 5-0.
The Wildcats had four players total five goals in the SHAC win, with JJ Massey scoring two goals, while Austin Bell, Josiah Burns and Braedon West each scored one goal. Noah Bitzer led LCHS with two assists, and Asher Faust had one assist in the win.
At goal for the Mustangs was Isaac Eyre with three saves in the shutout.
The win improves LCHS to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the SHAC. WHS falls to 0-1 overall and in SHAC play.
