Lynchburg-Clay wins 3rd consecutive SHAC golf championship

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs boys golf team continued their dominance of the Southern Hills Athletic Conference by winning the championship for a third consecutive season.
In the final standings for the SHAC championship, the Mustangs’ final score of the three-day event was 452 with day scores of 160, 146 and 146.
West Union placed second in the SHAC with a 494 score total in the three-day event. Next were Peebles (521), Whiteoak (527), Manchester (538), North Adams (544), Fairfield (544), Ripley (588), Eastern (618) and Fayetteville (631).
Winning the SHAC individual championship was Lynchburg-Clay’s Nolan Wilkin with a final score of 107 with day scores of 38, 35 and 34. LCHS also had the runner-up in the individual SHAC standings with Aiden Bene scoring a 114 (41, 36, 37).
The Mustangs also had fourth place with that being Jackson West with a score of 116 (41, 39, 36), and fifth place also belonged to the Mustangs as Kristian Beachy scored a 117 (40, 36, 41).
In ninth place for LCHS was Austin Manning with a score of 127 (46, 42, 39). The Mustangs had all five of their golfers earn All-SHAC honors with their Top 15 finishes.
Also All-SHAC from Highland County was Fairfield’s Pierce Abbott with a score of 125 (43, 41, 41) for eighth place. Whiteoak’s Carson Hart finished tied for 12th place with a score of 129 (42, 42, 45). Whiteoak’s Jake Kiley was tied for 15th overall for All-SHAC honors with a score of 130 (44, 42, 44).
The remainder of Whiteoak’s scores included: Colton Lynch (131), Caden Butler (139), Grady Roberts (144).
Fairfield’s remaining scores were: Van Bennington (136), Greyson Abbott (139), Mack Morrow (147) and Davis McKenzie (148).
For the girls SHAC championship, there were five total team scores with Manchester winning the championship with a score of 403. In second place was North Adams (407), West Union (426), Eastern (498) and Ripley (517).
Earning All-SHAC honors from Highland County was Kelsie Crowder, who was second place overall with a score of 87. Lynchburg-Clay’s Willow Smith tied for 15th place for All-SHAC honors with a score of 116.
Winning the individual SHAC girls championship was Peebles’ Alyssa Smalley with a score of 79.
More scores for Fairfield girls included: Bristol Williams (118), Eloise Roehm (129) and McKenna Self (67-one event).
LCHS also had individual scores from Libby Watson (121) and Jillian Roberts (158).
