Wheelersburg tennis wins against Hillsboro

The Hillsboro Lady Indians lost a non-conference home tennis match on Saturday morning, falling to the Wheelersburg Lady Pirates 0-5.

The Sept. 19 girls tennis match saw Wheelersburg’s Claire Kaltenbach defeat Taylor-Ann Scruggs in first singles by scores of 7-5, 6-0. In second singles WHS had Kenna Thomas win over Breanna Anderson of HHS at 6-0, 6-1. The third singles match consisted of Wheelersburg’s Avery Crisp winning 6-0, 6-0 over Hillsboro's Adalynn West.

In first doubles, WHS won with the team of Hannah Whitt and Lacey Waller over Hillsboro’s Lilah Hardy and Ciara Woods at 6-0, 6-0. In second doubles it was the Lady Pirates team of B. Dowdy and Hallie Bishop defeating Hillsboro’s Charlie Walch and Kaylin Branscom at 6-0, 6-1.

Hillsboro is now 9-7 overall and they currently sit at 6-1 in the FAC standings.
