Lady Indians tennis wins 5-0 against Blanchester

The Hillsboro Lady Indians gained a non-conference victory by winning on all five courts Tuesday (Aug. 25) as they defeated the visiting Blanchester Lady Wildcats 5-0 for the team win. 

The first doubles contest was HHS senior Adalyn Gaines defeating Blanchester junior Tatum Strange by scores of 6-3, 6-0. 

Taylor-Ann Scruggs, a Hillsboro junior, won in second singles against BHS senior Abby Thomas at 6-3, 6-1. 

Hillsboro’s third singles match saw HHS sophomore Breanna Anderson defeat Blanchester sophomore Laura Cox at 6-1, 6-0. 

In the two doubles matches, Hillsboro’s first doubles team of senior Ciara Woods and junior Kamrie Lee earned the win against BHS senior Grace Jones and senior Paityn Conley at 6-3, 6-1. 

The second doubles contest included Hillsboro sophomore Kaytin Branscom and junior Lilah Hardy win against junior Audrey Stinson and freshman Cathrine Vaher at 6-2, 6-2. 

Hillsboro’s win improves their overall team record to 7-2. Blanchester is now 1-6 overall this season.
