Lady Indians tennis falls to Unioto, Miami Trace and Waynesville

Played on Wednesday (Sept. 16) the Hillsboro Lady Indians tennis teams lost by a 3-2 team score to the visiting Unioto Lady Shermans at Hillsboro High School.
Hillsboro had wins from junior Taylor-Ann Scruggs in first singles as she defeated Lemaster of UHS by an 8-1 score. HHS also had a second doubles win as freshman Charlie Walch and sophomore Kaylin Branscom defeated Jones and Igo 8-6.
Unioto’s Colerain won second singles over sophomore Breanna Anderson at 8-0. In third singles, Unioto’s Dudzinski defeated Adalynn West 7-5. The first singles match saw the UHS team of Welch and Morrison defeat senior Ciara Woods and junior Lilah Hardy at 8-0.
On Monday (Sept. 14), Hillsboro lost to Waynesville at WHS by a 4-1 team score. The following day (Tuesday, Sept. 15) in Frontier Athletic Conference play, Hillsboro fell to the Miami Trace Lady Panthers by a 4-1 team score at MTHS.
Following the three matches this past week, Hillsboro is now 9-6 overall and 6-1 in the FAC.
The current FAC standings are Miami Trace leading at 7-1, followed by Hillsboro at 6-1. Next is Chillicothe at 3-4, followed by Washington at 1-6 and Jackson is 0-5.
HHS will next play on Monday, Sept. 21 on the road in FAC play against the Jackson Ironladies at 4 p.m.
