Indians lose to visiting MT Panthers

Being held to one hit, the Hillsboro Indians lost a Frontier Athletic Conference game Wednesday (April 26) to the visiting Miami Trace Panthers 5-0 at Richard Shaffer Park.

Miami Trace led 1-0 after the third inning and followed that with a three-run top of the fourth inning, then scored one last run in the sixth inning. In all, MTHS totaled 10 hits and committed one error.

HHS had one hit in the conference loss, that coming off the bat of Brayden Hunter. The Indians also forced four walks, and the players who drew the walks were Travis Ross, Brogan Priest, Evan Fender and Walker Pence.

Ross also had a steal, while Priest was hit by a pitch and had a steal. Ovid Wilson also had a steal.

Zach Burwinkel pitched four innings for the Indians, allowing four earned runs on one hits and four walks. He totaled six strikeouts.

Priest pitched one inning, allowing one earned run on one hit and two walks with one strikeouts.

Hunter pitched two innings, and he gave up no runs with two strikeouts.

The loss moves Hillsboro to 4-13 overall this season.
