Indians drop non-conference game to Broncos

Traveling to Western Brown High School on Friday evening, the Hillsboro Indians dropped a tough contest to the host Western Brown Broncos by an 11-1 score in six innings.
The Indians scored their lone run in the top of the fourth, as they held a 1-0 lead after four innings.
From there, all the scoring belonged to the Broncos, as the host team scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth, and then they gained the win with seven runs crossing the plate in the bottom of the sixth.
Hillsboro totaled two hits and two walks with Jack Cornele finishing 1-for-3 with a run, and Nate Lane was 1-for-2 with a walk. Brody Kelch collected an RBI for the Indians and also had a sacrifice fly, while Mason Dumpert forced a walk.
Cornele and Dumpert each had a steal.
Lane pitched four innings for HHS and totaled three strikeouts, Walker Pence pitched 1.1 innings, and Charlie Starks also pitched for the Indians.
Hillsboro now has an overall record of 3-5 on the season.
