Indians baseball falls to Jackson on consecutive days

The two consecutive Frontier Athletic Conference games for the Hillsboro Indians on Tuesday (April 8) and Wednesday (April 9) saw them fall twice to their conference foe, the Jackson Ironmen.
The Indians on Tuesday hosted Jackson and lost by a 4-0 score at Hillsboro High School. On the following day the Indians lost at Jackson High School to the Ironmen by a 10-0 score.
In Tuesday’s game the Indians trailed by a 1-0 score after the top of the first inning, and Jackson scored their final three runs in the top of the sixth for the four-run win.
The Ironmen totaled 10 hits and committed two errors, while the Indians collected three hits and had one error.
For Hillsboro, Jack Cornele was 1-for-2 with one walk, Zack Brown went 1-for-3 and Walker Pence finished 1-for-3.
Nate Lane forced two walks, and Luke Holland forced one walk. The Indians also had Wesley Bailey collect a stolen base.
Brayden Oberrecht pitched 5.1 innings (82 pitches, 53 for strikes), where he allowed four earned runs on eight hits and two walks, with four strikeouts. Brayden Hunter pitched 1.2 innings (27 pitches, 11 for strikes), allowing no runs on two hits and two walks.

The following day, on April 9, the Indians lost at Jackson by a 10-0 score in five innings.
Jackson scored one run in the bottom of the first, followed by a three-run third and six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. In all for Jackson, they totaled 11 hits and had one error.
The Indians totaled five hits and had two errors.
Oberrecht finished 1-for-1, while Brown was 2-for-2 with a double and he was hit by a pitch. Lane was 1-for-2 and Holland also was 1-for-2.
Hillsboro also had Pence force a walk.
Holland pitched 3.0 innings, allowing three earned runs on seven hits and no walks with two strikeouts. Dylan Bender pitched 0.2 innings with no earned runs no walks and two strikeouts. Lane allowed four hits, six earned runs and two walks.
The Indians are now 1-4 overall.
