After shutting out their quarterfinal opponent in the Division IV SE District Tournament last Wednesday, the Hillsboro Lady Indians were back on the soccer field in the Division IV SE District Semifinals, and they continued to keep pace from that previous match.

The No. 5 Lady Indians gained a big 3-0 win over the No. 4 seeded Gallia Academy Lady Blue Devils on Monday (Oct. 20) at Valley High School in Lucasville, with the semifinal win advancing them to the district championship game on Thursday at 5 p.m.

HHS will be facing the No. 1 seeded Albany Alexander Lady Spartans (14-3-1) at 5 p.m. back at Valley High School.

This postseason in two games the Lady Indians have outscored both GAHS and New Lexington 11-0, and Hillsboro’s next opponent, Alexander, has played in one tournament game against No. 9 seeded Ironton, winning by an 8-0 score on Monday.

For Hillsboro against the Lady Blue Devils of Gallia Academy, Monday’s three-goal win saw goals scored by three different players as they were senior Kamryn Asbury, junior Arianna Evans and senior Kobie Miles.

Hillsboro’s assists were made by junior Ella Jordan and Miles. Lady Indians junior keeper Phoebe Holland had three saves in the victory.

For the match, the Lady Indians totaled 12 shots and had three shots on goal. HHS also finished with three corner kicks and 23 steals against GAHS.

The win by Hillsboro improves their overall record to 10-8-1. Gallia Academy ends their season at 12-4-2.
