Hillsboro gains 4-set win over Wilmington

Facing the Wilmington Lady Hurricane on the road in non-conference action on Monday, the Hillsboro Lady Indians earned the four-set victory at Wilmington High School for their 10th win of the season.
The Monday, Sept. 21 win by the Lady Indians saw them split the first two sets played against Wilmington with HHS winning the first set at 25-19, while WHS won the second set at 25-18. Hillsboro rallied to win sets three and four by scores of 25-10 and 25-23 for the match win.
Hillsboro collected 44 kills in the victory, along with 42 assists, 13 aces, 87 digs, and two blocks against their former conference rival from the former SCOL days.
As for Monday, the Lady Indians had senior Tylee Davis finished with 15 kills, five assists, seven aces, and 22 digs.
Senior teammate Ryan Wagoner also had 15 kills for the co-lead with Davis in the win, as she also had one assist and 12 digs.
Macy Fauber finished the match with one kill, two assists, four aces and a team-best 23 digs. Senior Marianne Mycroft totaled two digs for the Lady Indians in the win. Junior Riley Pence had two kills, four digs and a block.
HHS senior Scarlett Perkins had seven kills, one assist, and a block. Fellow senior Josie Rhoades ended the win with 14 digs. Sophomore Emmalee Young had three kills, 32 assists, one ace, and nine digs. The Lady Indians also had senior Paisley Zink finish with one kill, one assist, and one dig.
With the win, Hillsboro improves to 10-3 overall.
