McClain, Hillsboro compete at 2026 Adam Sharp Memorial Invitational; MHS junior Connor Chandler finishes runner-up
The McClain Tigers boys and girls golf teams hosted the 2026 Adam Sharp McClain Invitational Thursday morning at the Buckeye Hills Country Club in Greenfield.
The boys event saw the Miami Trace Panthers win the event with a score of 175, followed by Chillicothe in second place with a score of 177. In third place was Hillsboro at 178, followed by Adena in fourth place with a score of 185. The host Tigers were fifth place with a score of 198, and the sixth-place team was Huntington at 202.
In the boys event, McClain junior Connor Chandler was second place overall with a score of 38. Also in the Top 5 was Hillsboro senior Connor Kelch with a score of 40 in third place. Winning the boys event was Miami Trace sophomore Aiden Loyd with a meet medalist score of 36.
The rest of McClain’s final individual scores included: junior Zander Lyons (20th, 49), junior Matthew Cummins (22nd, 55), freshman Haydn Faulconer (25th, 56), sophomore Jack Judkins (29th tied, 67) and sophomore Braydon Weinrich (31st, 72).
Hillsboro’s individual scores also included: senior Logan Barton (eighth tied, 45), junior Brody Kelch (13th tied, 46), sophomore Kyle Thoroman (16th tied, 47) and sophomore Hunter Seeling (16th tied, 47).
As for the girls event, it was Zane Trace winning with a score of 179, followed by Logan Elm in second place with a score of 179. The third-place team was Adena (192), followed in fourth place by Chillicothe (193), and fifth place was Goshen (200).
The sixth- through 11th-place teams were Miami Trace (sixth, 202), Huntington (seventh, 208), Clinton-Massie (eighth, 232), Jackson (ninth, 237), McClain (10th, 248) and Wilmington (11th, 253). The Washington Lady Blue Lions had a three-player team with a score of 183, as their results were not in the final team standings.
The winner of the individual girls event meet medalist was Zane Trace junior Rosella Lattavo with a score of 36.
McClain girls scores were: freshman Stella Henson (34th, 59), freshman Breslin Lyons (38th tied, 62), freshman Palmer Mitchell (38th tied, 62), senior Autumn Uhrig (47th, 65) and sophomore Joanie Shrout (47th tied, 65).
