Two 4-run innings send McClain to loss vs. Jackson

The Jackson Ironmen visited Greenfield Wednesday (May 7) to take on the McClain Tigers at Mitchell Park, where JHS defeated the host McClain baseball squad 11-3 in Frontier Athletic Conference action.
McClain’s runs were scored with one in the bottom of the third and two in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Tigers finished with six hits and one error.
Jackson had two four-run innings, with those coming in the top of the second and the top of the sixth. JHS also had one run in the third inning and a two-run seventh inning. For the game, Jackson totaled 11 hits and committed one error.
Hudson Lovett ended his day at the plate tied for the most hits by McClain, as he was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Tying Lovett in hits for the day was Kolton Lamb at 2-for-3.
Conner Chandler finished 1-for-4 with an RBI, while teammate Eli Douglas was 1-for-1 with one run.
Hunter Peabody and Alex Perie each forced a walk for the Tigers. Julian Swan scored a run for McClain. The Tigers also had Matthew Cummins score a run and walk once.
Steals were credited to Cohen Six, Douglas, Cummins and Swan.
Chandler was charged with the loss on the mound, allowing six earned runs in six innings with three strikeouts. Cummins pitched one inning, allowing two earned runs.
The Tigers are now 4-11 overall and finish 2-8 in the FAC standings.
