McClain Lady Tigers golf plays at two venues on Wednesday

The McClain Lady Tigers golf team hit the links with two teams at different venues on Wednesday, Aug. 5 with one team playing at the Wilmington Elks against the Clinton-Massie Lady Falcons, while another team traveled to play at Friendly Meadows where they faced Jackson and Miami Trace.
For the McClain team that played at the Wilmington Elks against the Lady Falcons, it was McClain falling by a 209-231 score. Clinton-Massie’s scores included: Renni Seagraves (38), Aly Montague (51), Marcella Kolb-Harris (56), and Hailey McCormick (64).
McClain was led by Stella Henson with a score of 54, followed by Palmer Mitchell finishing at 56. Breslyn Lyons for the Lady Tigers had a score of 58, followed by Zoe Zint ending the day at 63.
Joanie Shrout had a score of 64 for McClain, and teammate Carly Burhman scored a 68 in the non-conference match.
In the three-team event at Jackson, the Lady Tigers were third overall with a team score of 256. Jackson won with a score of 221 and Miami Trace was second at 227.
McClain was led by Hailey Cornett with a score of 59, while teammate Lyla Chamblin carded a score of 65.
Laycee Watson and Autumn Uhrig, both of McClain, each had a score of 66 at Jackson. Audrey Griffin scored a 68 and MHS teammate Baylee Arrington finished with a score of 70.
Winning the match was Jackson’s Ava Jenkins with a score of 45.
