Fairfield Lions gain 10-run win over Georgetown

On Thursday evening, the Fairfield Lions had one of their best wins of the 2026 season by defeating the Georgetown G-Men, 11-1 in five innings at Fairfield High School. 

The Lions ended the non-conference contest with 12 hits and no errors, while GHS had three hits and one error. 

Fairfield’s runs came in the bottom of the first as they scored the first run of the game, with consecutive four-run innings in the third and fourth. FHS finished their scoring with two runs in the bottom of the fifth. 

Georgetown scored their lone run in the top of the third. 

Caleb Rice and Cameron Miller each led the Lions with three-hit games, as Rice was 3-for-3 with three runs hit by pitch and two steals. 

Cameron Miller was also 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI and a sacrifice fly. Miller was also the winning pitcher. In five innings, he allowed one earned run on three hits and three walks with three strikeouts. 

Ben Miller was 1-for-2 with one run, two RBI and two walks. Zane Collins finished 1-for-3 with a run, an RBI and was hit by a pitch. 

Weston Baldwin went 1-for-1 with three RBI and two walks. Van Bennington finished 1-for-3. Greyson Abbott was 1-for-3 with a run and a steal. Spencer Hurless was 1-for-2 with one run, one walk and a steal. 

The Lions improve to 9-16 overall. 

Next for Fairfield is a non-conference game against SHAC and Highland County rival, Lynchburg-Clay, on Monday, May 18 in regular-season action at 5 p.m. 

Fairfield will play in their district-opening game Thursday, May 21 against the Southern Tornadoes at 2 p.m. at FHS.
