Fairfield defeats Whiteoak in SHAC rivalry game

The Fairfield Lady Lions earned a big win on Thursday (April 23) by defending their home diamond and defeating the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats 20-1 in five innings at Fairfield High School.
Fairfield ended the game with 16 hits and no errors, while WHS had four hits and no errors.
Rilee Quickle for the Lady Lions was 3-for-3 with four runs, six RBI, a double, and she hit two home runs in the win. Quickle was also the winning pitcher, allowing no earned runs on two hits and no walks with eight strikeouts in four innings.
Kelsie Crowder went 3-for-4 with a home run, four runs, three RBI and a walk. Alyssa Bales also had a three-hit game, going 3-for-3 with two runs, a HBP, two steals and two RBI.
Whitlee Morrow was 2-for-2 with three runs, one RBI, three steals and two walks. Ally Maynard went 2-for-3 with two runs, a steal and one RBI. Maynard also pitched one inning where she allowed one earned run, two hits and no walks and one strikeout.
Jorgia Smith finished 1-for-3 with two runs, one RBI and a walk. Ava White was 1-for-2 with one run. Jorja May finished 1-for-2 with a run and one RBI. Kyla Thomas forced a walk for FHS and had two steals. Avery Morrow scored a run and walked once.
Whiteoak had four hits by a combined four players, including Kiley Mitchell (1-for-2), McKinley Mootz (1-for-2, one steal), Madison Davidson (1-for-2, one run, two steals) and Layla Lear (1-for-1, one RBI).
Also for WHS, Kyra Boyd was hit by a pitch and had a steal. Boyd pitched four innings where she had five strikeouts.
WHS is now 2-7 in Div. II of the SHAC, and FHS is 7-2 in the SHAC Div. II SHAC standings (first place) and 14-6 overall.

Friday evening (April 24) the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats fell to Bethel-Tate by a 7-5 score in non-conference action at BTHS.
WHS held a 3-0 lead after scoring three runs in the top of the third, but Bethel-Tate tied the score with three runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Whiteoak regained the lead with a run in the top of the fifth, but BTHS had two runs in the bottom of the fifth. The same sequence occurred in the sixth inning, completing the score for a final of 7-5.
For the game, WHS had five hits and three errors. Bethel-Tate finished with 13 hits and one error.
Five WHS players each had a hit, as Chanel Captain was 1-for-3 (a triple), and teammate Kylee Ruark went 1-for-2 with a run and two walks. Kyra Boyd finished 1-for-3 (a triple), while Ivy Garrison went 1-for-2 with a walk. Jada Combs ended the game at 1-for-1 with two runs and a walk.
Jenna Canada finished with a run and a walk. Madison Davidson walked once, and Matti Conrad scored a run and walked once.
Combs, Canada and Boyd were all hit by a pitch. Steals went to Canada (two), Ruark (two), Conrad (two) and Boyd.
WHS is now 2-9 overall this season.
