Premier Showmen 4-H members strengthen judging skills at educational clinic

Members of the Premier Showmen 4-H Club recently participated in an educational livestock judging clinic led by club member Carly Sanders.

Sanders, who attends Lake Land College and is a member of the college's nationally recognized livestock judging team, shared her knowledge and experience with fellow 4-H members. Throughout the clinic, she provided valuable tips and techniques to help participants improve their livestock evaluation and judging skills.

During the hands-on session, members worked through livestock classes together, learning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of sheep, goats, beef cattle, and swine. Sanders also demonstrated effective strategies for organizing scorecards and confidently answering oral questions during livestock judging competitions.

The clinic concluded with members evaluating livestock classes on their own before reviewing the results as a group, allowing participants to compare their placings and discuss their reasoning.

The Premier Showmen 4-H Club extends its sincere appreciation to Carly Sanders for volunteering her time and expertise to help fellow members develop their livestock judging skills. The knowledge and experience gained during the clinic will help prepare members for upcoming judging contests and future livestock projects.
