The 11th annual Pike Lake State Park Railroad Rendezvous will be held Saturday, July 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 pm. Exhibitors will bring collections of railroad memorabilia, photos, models and memories pertaining to the DT&I, N&W, B&O, C&O and other railroads that influenced the economy and society of southern Ohio.

The event will kick off with a special presentation by local historian Jim Henry in the John C. Cooper Memorial Amphitheater on Friday, July 15 at 9 p.m. Jim will show historic slides and talk about the impact of the Detroit, Toledo and Ironton railway system on Southern Ohio.

Last year, antique tractors and trucks were added to the show. Those who would like to participate may contact park naturalist Matthew Minter at (740) 947-5409 or email at pike_naturalist@yahoo.com.

This is a cultural event intended on bringing people with similar interests together. Events such as this help keep the spirit and memories of the past, present and future railroaders together.

This program is free and open to the public. Visit the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for more events at www.dnr.state.ohio.us/odnr/parks.[[In-content Ad]]
