New Vienna Community Church to Celebrate its Second Anniversary
The New Vienna Community Church will celebrate its 2nd anniversary with activities beginning this Sunday, April 18. Morning worship will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a rededication of its ministry to the New Vienna Community and the surrounding two-county area. Refreshments will follow the worship service. A memory book has been completed of its first two years of ministry.
A series of evening revival services will be held on Sunday-Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. The Sunday, evening speaker will be Dan Cook, Pastor of Samantha Friends Church. The Samantha church is where current pastor, Dan Mayo, began his ministry in the Highland-Clinton County area 9 years ago. Cook’s brother, Jim Cook will provide special music for the evening. On Monday evening, Evangelist Tim Case will preach with music provided by the Edwards Family, music directors for the young congregation. Mr. Case is from the Greenfield area and is well-known in the area preaching 6 Revivals already this month and 38 Revivals in 2009. Tuesday evening’s speaker will be Brother Keith Perkins, Pastor of the New Vienna Prince of Peace FWB Church. Special music for the evening will be provided by The Faith and Light Mennonites of Leesburg.
Pastor Mayo says: “We are very proud of our ministry here. We have a great blend of people from the local New Vienna community and from both Highland and Clinton counties. We have families from southern Highland County, from Blanchester and Chester township in northern Clinton County and even from Columbus. We provide an Evangelical spirit in a classical Christian context in the Spirit of Wesleyanism. Many of our families come from denominations out of the Wesleyan tradition. We are non-denominational with a heart to reach people for Christ and serve the local community.
New Vienna is a great community and we are proud to be here. Last year we took care of the physical needs of our facility through a new roof that the congregation worked on together. Our goals for the coming year include enhancing the music program through the purchase of new hymnbooks which are already ordered, continuing to strengthen our bonds with the local community and grow through reaching families that are seeking an evangelical Wesleyan approach to worship. We also strive to recognize and honor the veterans and current members of our armed forces through special services of remembrance. We want our veterans to know how much we appreciate their service and sacrifice for our freedoms.”
