Bill McTague, chairman of the 2009 Lynchburg Village Christmas, reports that despite the failing economy, this year’s Village Christmas was a huge success. McTague credits its success to the generosity of local businesses who came forward to make this year’s event a great one. For instance, the free carriage rides were sponsored by Terry’s Grocery, Lynchburg and Hillsboro Fifth Third Bank, Tom Pitzer Trucking, Davis-Turner Funeral Home, and Higgins Supply.
The Lynchburg Homebuilders Association donated a 32-inch RCA flat screen TV that was given away in a free raffle. Many businesses and homes had free refreshments. Lynchburg Commons gave a free lunch of sloppy joes, chips, and pop to all who stopped in. Beans and cornbread were served at Lori’s Place and Murphy Hardware. McTague would like to thank all of their sponsors and vendors who made this year’s Village Christmas one to remember.[[In-content Ad]]
