The Community Improvement Corporation of the Lynchburg area recently hosted the residents of Lynchburg to an evening of fun and entertainment in the town's third annual block party.

The Lynchburg Fire Department cooled down all the kids with a street full of water and lots of fun. The children also enjoyed water balloon games.

Lynchburg was a recipient of an Ohio Department of Natural Resources Nature Works grant recently. With the generous matching funds from the Lynchburg Recreation group, headed by Marvin and Connie Resibois, a beautiful shelter house was constructed at the Old School Park.

The shelter house will supply the residents of Lynchburg with a great gathering place for many years to come.

Many local construction companies participated: Elam Construction, Bill Rosselott Concrete, Vilvens & Son Excavating, and Frost Trucking. Reserving the shelter house for an event can be arranged through the Lynchburg Village office.

The Block Party also offered great food, including Slow & Low Barbecue, hot dogs donated & prepared by Vilvens & Son Excavating, Kona Ice treats, pizza from the Lynchburg Lion’s Club, soda from the Lynchburg Boy Scouts, an old time candy store, and water was graciously provided by the Pearl Street Church of Christ.

A raffle of Red’s tickets, our favorite rodeo clown, a cornhole tournament, and a demonstration by Chica, the K9 police dog added excitement to the evening.
The band Streetwise provided hours of music, dancing and fun for the event.

A big thanks to Dr. Schreibman for funding the band.[[In-content Ad]]
