H1N1 Flu Shot Clinic
The Highland County Senior Citizens Center and Walgreens are sponsoring an H1N1 vaccination clinic on Thursday, Feb. 4 from noon-4 p.m. Ages 14 years and older are eligible.
Medicare Part B and Ohio Medicaid will pay for the shots. If you do not have Medicare B or Medicaid the vaccine cost is $18. For questions, or to pre-register, please call Walgreens at 393-2307.
Membership update
Remember, 2010 membership dues are due now, and you must be a member to participate in activities, take advantage of discounts on meals and travel with us. In these tough economic times, we need the support of all our members in order to keep our doors open. Please support your Center by renewing your membership, and invite a friend to join.
Regular membership is $20 per year and is open to all those age 50 and over.
Associate membership is open to those under age 50 at $10 per year and entitles the associate member to take advantage of some of the things available, such as member price for meals. Stop in any time, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Guide to Center Services
Periodically, we like to alert our readers to the services available at the Highland County Senior Center.
• Notary Public services are available at the Center Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. See Suzanne or Wanda in the front office. This service is available to the public.
• Blood pressure 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, provided by Highland Co. Health Dept.
• Social Security representatives are at the Center on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon. No appointment is necessary, you are seen by number. This quarter dates for Social Security are Jan. 20, Feb. 17 and March 17.
• Dr. Paul Yinger sees patients at the Center for Chiropractic Services by appointment. Chiropractic services are covered under Medicare and most private insurance. If you wish to pay out-of-pocket, services are $20. Call the center for an appointment.
• The center provides home delivered meals to seniors in Hillsboro. Hot meals are delivered five days a week and microwaveable frozen meals are delivered on Fridays for weekends.
Meals are $3.75 per day, billed monthly. Seniors who meet income and other eligibility criteria may be able to get their meals partially subsidized through the center’s Angel Fund or completely paid for through the AAA7’s PASSPORT program.
