Leesburg Area Historical Society announces annual Heritage Breakfast
The Leesburg Area Historical Society will host its fourth annual Heritage Breakfast Saturday, Nov. 8 from 8-11 a.m. at the Highland County North Joint Fire & Ambulance Station Community Room (200 South St., Leesburg).
On the menu are pancakes and sausage, biscuits and gravy, and beverages.
Antique and vintage items will be appraised by Betty Ann Walker from 8-9:30 a.m.
There will also be a silent auction of paintings of barns & train depots from in and around Highland County. The artist, Bob Kroeger, will share barn stories and demonstrate his painting techniques from 9:30-10:30. The silent auction, which has already begun online, will conclude its in-person bidding phase at 11 a.m.
While the entire event is free, the Leesburg Area Historical Society will gratefully accept donations toward renovating the interior of our 1899 depot and turning it into a community center. Thanks to tremendous community support, exterior restoration of the depot is nearly complete and we hope visitors to the breakfast will stop by the depot and check out the improvements.
