KAMP Dovetail to host annual carnival, auction June 23

     On Wednesday, June 23 at 7 p.m., SATH's KAMP Dovetail Space Camp will host its 3rd Annual Carnival and "Out of This World" Auction at Rocky Fork State Park campground. The auction is open to the public, and all are invited to attend.
     Each summer, SATH sponsors KAMP Dovetail, an overnight camp for special-needs children. This volunteer-staffed camp relies on public donations to support the event.
     "As you know, the surrounding counties have been dealt a significant economic blow," director Linda Allen said. "This year, we have seen a significant increase in scholarship applications as a result of the economics downturn. This increase in scholarships and area businesses tightening their belts has led to a significant shortfall in our operating budget. 
     "Despite these challenges, we have not reduced our camper enrollment or the activities offered. We do, however, need your help to make camp successful this year and for years to come." 
     Community members are encouraged to make a donation of a craft, homemade item, or other auction items to be solld at the Auction to help raise additional funds for KAMP Dovetail. Campers will also be donating to auction off. Bengal, Ohio State, Cincinnati Reds and Caddyshack fans will be delighted with the sports memorabilia items available for sale.
     Anyone with items to donate may drop them off at KAMP Dovetail anytime on June 21 or 22, or June 23 before 5 p.m. All proceeds will be used to help with this year's KAMP Dovetail "Space Camp."
