HUBA Christmas parade set for Nov. 26

The Hillsboro Uptown Business Association (HUBA) will present the annual uptown holiday parade on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. The theme of this year's parade will be “A Storybook Christmas,” and the streets of uptown Hillsboro will be bustling with activities throughout the day and evening hours.
The grand marshal for the 2011 holiday parade will be Hillsboro Mayor Dick Zink, and he will also be joined by family members from throughout the country. Even before the parade begins, HUBA invites everyone to come uptown and discover all the excitement that is happening uptown by visiting the restaurants, galleries and retail stores and other businesses. The petting zoo, which was popular last year, will return again this year starting at noon in the old city building.
Santa will end the annual parade and will be dropped off at The Colony Theatre, where children can get their photo with Santa. Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras.
The holiday week will start with the 2nd Annual Snowflake Pageant, held Sunday, Nov. 20 at 4 p.m. This year, the pageant will have five age groups. Those interested in participating should contact Georgiaʼs Bridal at 393-1042. The deadline to enter is Nov. 12.
