Hillsboro VFW to host Adam Widner

V.F.W. Post #9094 cordially invites the public to attend a program presented by the Clinton and Highland County American Red Cross guest speaker Adam Widner with the Wounded Warrior Project.

The program will be held Wednesday, March 28 at 4:30 p.m. at the Post (behind Dairy Queen in Hillsboro), with doors opening at 4 p.m.

In 2004, Widner enlisted in the United States Army National Guard. He deployed to Germany as a military police officer in 2005 and volunteered in 2007 for his deployment to Kapisa and Parwan provinces in Afghanistan. Widner suffered spinal cord, shoulder and ankle injuries in Afghanistan in 2008 while traveling in the gunner's turret of a Humvee. He was honorably discharged from the military in 2010 as a Sergeant E-5.

Warriors Speak is a prestigious group of wounded warriors and caregivers who have been selected to share their inspirational stories of courage and integrity with the public through the Wounded Warrior Project.[[In-content Ad]]
