Hillsboro Library garden wins state beautification contest

The Hillsboro Garden Club is a winner in the 2011 Ohio Association of Garden Clubs' state beautification contest.  

In 2007, a tree at the south entrance to the Hillsboro Public Library was blown over during a windstorm. The Hillsboro Garden Club planted a small perennial garden to fill the space and welcome the public.

The OAGC commended the Hillsboro Garden Club for its project.  

"Your efforts resulted in a beautiful entrance to your town's library. You should be very proud of a job well done."

The Hillsboro Garden Club meets at Granger Floral Hall at the Highland County Fairgrounds at 7 p.m. on the 4th Tuesday of the month.
