Hillsboro Emblem Club 277
Hillsboro Emblem Club 277 is still on summer hiatus through August, but we’ve busy as usual.
Our gals attended the Ohio State Association Convention in June, and a full report will be given at our Sept. 8 5 p.m. meeting in the Elks basement rooms.
We were thrilled to discover the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Mary Catholic Church was awarded a $500 donation from the state association.
In July, President Christine Storer and several of us delivered the check and had it recorded complete with a photo and story that appeared in The Highland County Press newspaper. Special thanks to the St. Vincent group for their generous support for folks in need financially.
August has also seen Past President Leslie Ramsey inducted into the Highland County Historical Society’s Hall of Fame, with the ceremony held the Aug. 16, her late father’s heavenly birthday (Wes Ludwick would have been 110 this year and a WWII veteran) serving as a Warrant Officer at the Pentagon.
I want to personally thank my club members for coming to the induction ceremony to celebrate and boost my morale. Love you all for being there with my family and friends.
