The Greenfield Historical Society is hosting its next Sunday dinner on Feb. 3 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Grain and Hay Building on the east end of town.

The meal will be smoked ham, cheesy potatoes, Waldorf salad, green beans or succotash, roll, and pineapple upside-down cake.

It will be served by waiters and waitresses with dinner plates and linens. Come enjoy a great meal and wonderful company.

The society also wants to make you aware of a great project that has been going on this year. In March 2012, we received a grant for $1,835. This project was supported in part by an award from the Ohio Historical Records Advisory Board, through the funding from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), National Archives and Records Administration.

This money helped to jump-start accessing, organizing, and preserving 800 different photographs and pictures in our library.

All photographs have been given an accession number with the new computer program, put into a acid-free protective sleeve, and filed into a new photograph file cabinet. The computer program can search by title, category, or name of a person.

The society is excited about sharing these photographs with people in the area.

In March, when we resume regular hours on Thursday afternoon from 1-4 p.m., we invite all to come down to Travellers Rest to view the collection.
