The Debbie Moore Memorial Equine Scholarship fund-raising dinner will be held Saturday, March 26 at the Ponderosa Banquet Hall on Rte. 62 South in Hillsboro. This event generates funds for the scholarship, which is awarded annually to an area high school senior pursuing a career with horses. The dinner also gets horsemen together and provides aspiring horse professionals a chance to network with others involved with horses. The event features a raffle, a silent auction, buffet dinner, and guest speaker. Previous scholarship recipients are invited to tell about their equine and educational experiences.

The guest speaker this year will be Dr. John Mossbarger, D.V.M. Dr. Mossbarger is an owner of Midland Acres, the prominent standardbred facility in Bloomington.

Among the many items for this year's silent auction are: an embossed nylon halter/lead shank set and a horse head hoodie from Back In The Saddle, a mane tamer from Osbourne Tack in Middletown, grooming supplies from Shadawood Acres in Quincy, horse feed, gloves, tack items, framed equine art, gift certificates from local merchants, and toys and games for the younger set.

The event runs from 5-9 p.m. and is open to the public. The cost is $15 for adults, $25 for couples, and $10 for children ages 5-12. Donations of nice items for the silent auction are welcome.

Please call or e-mail reservations before March 21. For reservations, dinner information, and inquiries concerning the scholarship, call (937) 466-2305 or e-mail debmoorems_2002@yahoo.com.[[In-content Ad]]
