CMH Regional Health System celebrates National Patient Safety Week March 7-13

By
-

The National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF) will kick off Patient Safety Awareness Week on March 7, 2010, in a concerted effort to raise awareness of patient safety initiatives, improve the quality of health care, and strengthen alliances between patients, families and their healthcare providers.

During this week, CMH Regional Health System will be hosting events to promote patient safety within their own organization. Activities will focus on educating patients on how to become more involved in their own health care and events will foster partnerships between healthcare providers and their patient community.
In its eighth year, Patient Safety Awareness Week is sponsored by NPSF and celebrated by healthcare organizations around the world.
As a member of the Greater Cincinnati Health Council, CMH is participating in the GCHC patient safety campaign: “It’s OK to Ask.”
The 2010 campaign focuses on sending a strong message to encourage partnerships between patients, their families and healthcare workers. Healthy communication between provider, patient and families helps assure treatment adherence and enables patients to feel comfortable asking questions, and this helps decrease healthcare errors.
To learn more about Patient Safety Awareness Week you can visit Clinton Memorial Hospital March 7 - 13 to view patient safety displays in the Atrium, just inside the main entrance.
