Buford area children help their neighbor

On Saturday, March 19, boys and girls from the Buford community took some time from their busy schedules, to provide assistance to an elderly resident.
The boys are members of the Tiger Cubs, part of Lynchburg Clay Pack 120. Their sisters participated in the activity, as well. The group spent about an hour, performing yard cleanup work for the homeowner. They picked up sticks and trash in order to prepare her yard for the mowing season.
This activity served to fulfill an elective, service requirement for the boys, all of whom will be receiving their Tiger badge, at an upcoming promotion ceremony.
“Service to others” is an important principle of Scouting. Throughout the year, the Cubs have been involved in a variety of activities which teach the importance of helping others in the community.
Scouting provides a positive environment, in which boys can make friends, learn new skills and give back to their families and their communities.
